Arts Access Endowment Fund (Field
of Interest Fund)
For our donors with a more targeted approach to giving, DRAA offers this
fund which addresses a specific DRAA program and need in our community—The
Arts Access Program. DRAA’s Arts Access Program helps bring
the magic of the arts to low-income families, at-risk youth, isolated
seniors, the disabled, and many others who would otherwise not be
able to enjoy the arts. Your gift to DRAA’s Arts Access Program
will enable these individuals to experience the full spectrum of quality
performing and visual arts programs in our community.
Scholarship Fund
The DRAA Scholarship Fund makes it possible for deserving individuals
to continue their art education, by providing direct aid to students in
recognition of their financial need, their scholastic achievements, or
both. You can work with DRAA to design scholarship criteria that match
your interests and/or the needs of the community.
Donors may establish a scholarship fund in their name or the name of
a loved one. The distributions from the fund are used to provide educational
opportunities for individuals chosen by an independent scholarship committee.
An example of DRAA’s Scholarship Fund is the “President’s
Scholarship Fund” which was created last year to recognize the exceptional
leadership and commitment of DRAA’s Presidents. Each year a talented
high school senior, who has demonstrated exception talent, will be awarded
the scholarship in their honor.
Unrestricted or Flexible Fund
Unrestricted or Flexible Funds are preferred by donors who want their
donations to address our community's most compelling needs. Flexible Funds
allow for the widest possible use of the fund to work toward stronger
arts organizations within our community. DRAA urges all donors to designate
some of their contributions for flexible grantmaking to help ensure adequate
resources for unanticipated needs in the future.
By making an unrestricted gift, you give DRAA latitude in addressing
the most pressing needs in the county today as well as the emerging needs
of the next generation. Unrestricted funds are those from which grants
are normally made in response to approved applications from community
arts organizations. Such funds are also used to fund grants for proactive
purposes approved by the Board of Directors.
Families, individuals, and businesses may be particularly interested
in an Unrestricted Endowment when they:
- Wish to create a perpetual
named fund to honor or memorialize a family, individual, or business
- Wish to create a perpetual
named fund to which others may contribute
- Wish to provide funds which
allow the board and staff of DRAA to respond to community needs in innovative
ways
